BoostHbg grants development funds and mentorship to Transmedia storytellers and producers in Skåne.

BoostHbg initiates the Boost Transmedia Program to stimulate development and innovation of Transmedia projects in Skåne, selecting 5 Transmedia projects to receive:

 

- 60.000 SEK in development support

- A development track consisting of:

3 individual mentoring sessions with the programme's main mentor
4 group meetings with the other projects
Access to Transmedia experts

Boost Transmedia Program - Content

All applicants are asked to formulate individual goals for their participation when applying to the program. These goals will be the basis for planning the detailed content of the development track, to make sure the projects' needs are in focus.

However, the development track has its starting point the established need for:

- Knowledge of the different industries, terms of production, distribution and financing

- Exploring user engagement and the web as a tool for developing the storytelling

- Developing strategies for open-ended storytelling while delivering focused pitches

- Developing and communicating innovations in storytelling

- Continuous testing of assumptions and central aspects of the project

 

Boost Transmedia Program - Process

BoostHbg has established an international selection committee to select projects based on their originality and quality.

Boost Transmedia Program consists of 4 group meetings, with individual mentor sessions in between. The first mentoring session will take place before the kick-off meeting December 5-6. Subsequent group meetings take place over one day (estimated mid-January, mid-March, late April).

Lead mentor and project manager for Boost Transmedia Program is Cecilie Stranger-Thorsen. With a background in web and community production for young filmmakers (2000-2005), Cecilie has worked with film-, games and television co-operation across Nordic borders since 2004. Her company Stranger, based in Malmö since 2009, assists creative producers in developing Transmedia storytelling, communication and financial strategies.

External mentors will be found after forming the group and discussing their goals. They will be available for group sessions and / or individual contact, depending on the needs established.

 

Boost Transmedia Program - Terms for application / participation

- Applicants should have formulated a Transmedia project and already have started the work. The application includes a synopsis, platform- and financial strategy.

- Applicants should have formulated a goal for participating in the development track.

- The project should be open for input and testing central aspects of the project during the development track.

- The participants will have the main responsibility of arranging the individual mentoring sessions according to the suggested timeframe and own agendas.

Participation in the development track is compulsory and a term for receiving development support. The development support will be paid with 50% after the first group meeting, 30% after the third group meeting and 20% at the end of the track (estimated May 1st).

 

Language

Communicating the project to both Swedish and International financers are essential to realize the projects. Both the application process and project synopsis will be in English, as will communication with many of the external mentors. The individual mentor sessions will be held in Scandinavian or in English.
